Notification of Transition of EPBC Services to WorkBC Employment Services
Beginning April 1, 2019, WorkBC will offer better services for people who need support to re-enter the workforce, access training opportunities and find good jobs. The services people count on will continue to be available, with enhanced supports that include:
- A better focus on helping you find and sustain employment.
- Help to find a better job if your hours are unstable, or if the work is not in line with your skills.
- Expanded eligibility for specialized WorkBC services if you have paid into employment insurance (EI) for five of the last 10 years.
- WorkBC Employment Services offer employment services and supports through 103 WorkBC Centres across the province and online through www.WorkBC.ca.
- WorkBC Apprentice Services provide financial supports to Apprentices in training.
- WorkBC Assistive Technology Services offers adaptive technology to help people with disabilities pursue employment opportunities.
WorkBC Employment Services will be accessible from your home computer or smart phone through the Online Employment Services (OES) portal (located at www.WorkBC.ca).
Effective April 1, 2019, you will be required to have OES account in order to receive WorkBC Employment Services. OES registration will provide you with access to your important case information (such as financial supports), and the ability to share information with your WorkBC Centre staff. To make sure you have access starting April 1, contact your WorkBC Centre today. Ministry Client Portal (MCP) Registration
Effective April 1, 2019, you will be required to have an Online Employment Services (OES) account in order to receive WorkBC Employment Services. OES registration will provide you with access to your important case information (such as financial supports), and the ability to share information with your WorkBC Centre staff.
How do I make sure I’m registered to receive WorkBC Employment Services starting April 1?
- In order to make sure you are able to access services starting April 1, we recommend early registration for online services any time before March 27, 2019 5:00 pm PST via the Messaging Centre – Ministry Client Portal (MCP). To register early, please contact your WorkBC Centre Case Manager and they will get you started.
- You will require a Basic BCeID in order to complete the registration process. If you have an existing BCeID, use the same one for this registration process. If you do not have a BCeID, visit www.bceid.ca to create one.
If I don’t register before March 27, what can I do?
If you do not register early, you will still be able to access WorkBC Employment Services. You will just need to register for OES yourself starting April 1. Visit www.WorkBC.ca and follow the instructions to access ‘Online Employment Services.’ If you have trouble with your OES registration, your local WorkBC Centre can assist you.
Important Notice for income or disability assistance clients
If you use My Self-Serve (MySS), you MUST use the same Basic BCeID to register for MCP. If you do not, your access to MySS will be overwritten, which will cause a delay in service via MySS.
